Bereavement Services

Postvention Support for Organizations
PPSPP can help your organization deal with the aftermath of a suicide loss. This is best done proactively through implementing suicide prevention policies and procedures. PPSPP can provide you with toolkits and consultation free of charge.
The L.O.S.S. Team
This is a team of trained, suicide loss survivors, who are deployed by First Responders to the scene of a suicide. Their role is to serve as an immediate support and advocate to the suicide loss survivors on the scene. The LOSS team member is prepared to help connect those impacted by the loss to needed resources and services. They will provide on-going peer support for as long as there is a need. Bereavement Meetings
PPSPP facilitators hold a group with those closely impacted by the death to help process the loss and help the participants begin their grief journeys. An overview of suicide grief is discussed and resource information is provided. All group participants have access to a one on one check with the facilitator to talk about individual needs after the group meeting concludes. This meeting can be held at the locations that participants feel the most comfortable.
Grief Therapy
Anyone impacted by a suicide loss is eligible for 5, free, individual grief therapy sessions through PPSPP.
Suicide Loss Grief Groups
Surviving the Storm Grief Groups are the suicide loss peer support groups that we offer to youth ages 6 and up. These groups meet once a week and dinner is provided. Participants receive support and connection with others who have experienced a similar loss. Understanding Your Suicide Grief is a 10-week closed group for 18 and up. It is book club meets peer support style. Participants receive the book, “Understanding your Suicide Grief,” by Alan Wolfelt and get connected with a network of peer support.
Suicide Prevention Connection
is a mixed group of individuals who have all been impacted by suicide one way or another. This is a weekly, drop-in group for 18 and up.
