QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper Training – 90 min
Provides suicide prevention basics to include warning signs, asking the question, and community resources. This training can be done virtually or in-person.
Suicide Prevention Overview – 60 min
Provides an overview of Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention- the three main components of suicide prevention. This training can be done virtually or in-person.
Suicide Prevention for Different Levels of Risk – 120 min
Reviews common presentation for different levels of risk and outlines the appropriate interventions for each one with a component of small group practice and discussion. This training can be done virtually or in-person.
Managing Risk in the Community – 90 min.
The overuse of hospitalization to manage suicide risk creates trauma and distrust for the individual seeking help. This training reviews the Crisis Safety Plan vs. The Comprehensive Safety Plan to help reduce hospitalizations and emphasize the importance of support teams comprised of family, loved ones and professionals work together to support someone with thoughts of suicide. This training can be done virtually or in-person.
Postvention as Prevention- 60 min
How we respond after a suicide attempt or suicide loss matters. Individuals exposed to suicide have an increased risk of engaging in suicidal behavior. Learn the best practice postvention supports that can help reduce the risk of additional tragedy. This training can be done virtually or in-person.
ASIST Workshop (Two Days)
Provides in depth look at how our personal attitudes about suicide impact how we intervene, tools to engage in the suicide conversation in a compassionate, relational way, while still assessing for risk and creating a safe plan. Participants leave as a trained suicide, first aid caregiver. CEU's available upon request.
Perfectly Imperfect: Support Rooted in Love (8 hours)
Created for parents/caregivers/youth workers participants learn strategies to serve as a more effective caregiver to a young person who is struggling with mental health issues.
Verbal Crisis Intervention (8 hours)
Developed by the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), this training provides verbal de-escalation techniques that can be used across different environments.
Trauma Informed Suicide Prevention (4 hours)
Arms helpers with information and techniques for working with a person having thoughts of suicide who has experienced trauma.
Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, peers, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

Soul Shop™ is an interactive workshop that equips the faith community to minister to those impacted by suicidal desperation. At a Soul Shop™ workshop, attendees will learn how to: Prevent suicide in your community, identify suicide risk factors and warning signs. Ask a person at risk if they might be thinking about suicide, be a companion to those experiencing suicide loss, Know what the Bible has to say about suicide, Integrate suicide prevention into the life and ministry of the church. Suicide is a public health crisis that requires our communities to respond. We believe all congregations are well situated to be significant sources of hope and healing for those impacted by suicide.
